VOTING DETAILS
TCBBS Annual board membership vote is on July 19th, 2026.
The TCBBS is a Texas 501c3 Non profit with 4 Primary Board Members.
All positions are subject to reelection annually.
The 4 positions are : (click on position title for description)
1. President
2. Vice President
3. Treasurer
4. Secretary
Any member meeting the criteria to become a board member may oppose existing seated board members.
The requirements are:
Any member wishing to run for a board position must:
A. Have been a member for a minimum of 1 year.
B. Be willing to perform the duties of board members without pay.
C. Must be willing to be vetted with a background check regarding any legal issue history.
D. Must conduct themselves professionally on Social Media at all times.
E. Must be available to participate in monthly closed board meetings.
F. Must be active in a minimum of 60% of all TCBBS functions and events.
Voting Rights.
All current general memberships count as one vote.
All current business memberships count as one vote.
All current venue memberships count as one vote.
A voting portal will be available on TCBBS.org 2 weeks prior to election day where members can absentee vote.
Physical voting will be at the Rialto Theater, 327 Commercial Street, Aransas Pass, Texas from 4-7 pm.
Unopposed board members will automatically have their position extended for 1 year from election day.
Currently, the position of Vice President will be voluntarily vacated by John Cortez on July 19th, 2026.
Herb Puryear is the only candidate that has requested to be added to the ballot as V.P. (to date). The board has determined that he has met the required qualifications to run for the position.
The website voting portal will reflect that Herb will be added as a candidate. We urge anyone else wishing to run for a board position contacts the Secretary of the TCBBS, Alma Merchant immediately for review by the board. Alma can be reached @ tcbbsinfo@gmail.com
